Reiki is how I started this amazing journey into complementary therapy.
After being diagnosed with Tendonitis in my shoulder, I was told I might need to have a cortisol injection in my shoulder. My inner voice was screaming, NO WAY. The needles don't bother me but the thought o being subjected to this sent shudders through my body.
Within a matter of days, by chance I met a Reiki trainee who was looking for a case study to practice on and kindly gave me Reiki healing for a few weeks as part of his training.
The Universe does move in mysterious ways and brings us who we need at that time, even when sometimes its not who we consciously want or think we need.
By going with the flow of this beautiful gift the universe had sent me, I no longer needed the Cortisol iinjection. Which was the best news ever!
And, the bonus was, after interesting conversations with John, the Reiki trainee, it became apparent, I have gifts that I was not consciously aware of, and he introduced me to his Reiki Master Teacher, Jill Collins, whose lineage goes back to Mikao Usui. Within 18 months I had been attuned to all 3 degrees of Reiki energy and became a Usui Reiki Master Practitioner
This week along with her friends, family and fellow students, we said goodbye to Jill Collins, our Reiki Master Teacher as she is now watching over us from the higher realms.
I have taken time out this week to reflect upon my Reiki journey from meeting John and Jill to how it has benefitted me good physical, mental and emotional health and wellbeing over the last 12 years, and suppports my own transformational healing everyday.
In Jill's memory, I will be donating 50% of all proceeds of my Reiki sessions in September to the Isle of Man Hospice, which Jill was heavily involved with from the beginining and where she spent her last few weeks.
